Linenhall Library extraORDINARYwomen project

We were delighted to be invited to provide community engagement services for the Linenhall Library extraORDINARYwomen project. The project aimed to share the extraORDINARYwomen archive with local community groups, broadening its accessibility, and encouraging contributions of all kinds from across Northern Ireland to extend and enrich the archive. COVID disrupted this process, and we were tasked with ensuring thoughtful engagement took place with underrepresented groups, including women with disabilities, LGBTQI+ women/people, rural women, minority ethnic women and refugee and asylum seeker women. We conducted a series of oral history interviews and facilitated a programme of creative workshops where participants made cyanotypes, mind maps, zines and mono-prints in response to engaging with the archive.
